About This Chapter
The next morning, the students wake up to find that the vice principal has been fired. The vice principal tells the students that he's leaving as soon as he can, but there's something he needs to ask the new principal about. He's heard that the aunt of the students' sister has started a school in Australia, and he wants to know if she's wearing the same crimson dress as the former vice principal. He also learns that the current vice principal's sister, Polly Sue, has escaped from the school and is now living in Australia. Polly Sue's aunt, Aunt Arvill, isn't at the school anymore, so the school has become a prison for her. Polly has found some supplies for painting, but she'll either have to leave the school or be taken in by one of the other students. Polly's going to have to go somewhere, Polly says, because the school's been turned into a prison by the rain. She's also worried that Polly Sue will be the one who runs off with her sister. Polly says that she has to stay awake all the time, because she can see horrible visions in her head.
