About This Chapter
When schala wakes up, she finds millie gone. She tells her sister not to worry, because she's going to see an old friend, Miss Anu, who's back in the States. She asks amber if she'd like to talk to her, but she can't because her dad has gone back to Singapore. She's sick, she says, and wants to see her aunt and uncle, but they're off on business. She wants to know why amber is sick, and she says it's because she feels like someone's been taking care of her. She tries to calm her down by saying that she just wants to get over the whole "missing girls" thing. She shows her sister the photo of the girl who disappeared eleven years ago, and asks her if she still has news clippings about the girls' disappearances. She says she doesn't have any, but asks if she can tell her how many girls have disappeared. She promises to take the clippings back to tell her.
