In this chapter, Cai Ming tells us that liansheng has eaten up all the people who have not fulfilled their promises. He blames Cai Ming for saddling him with a monster. He tells Cai Ming that sheng used to be Cai Ming's lover, but after the two of them met, sheng changed his mind. He wanted to convert Cai Ming to Buddhism, but he was killed by Cai Ming and all the other monks as well. Cai Ming says that he intended to take sheng in, and help him work for him. He asks Cai Ming why he didn't organize an alliance with the other two. He wonders if they planned another assassination to kill Cai Ming. The dark clouds look like they're about to rain heavily, so Cai Ming has to hurry back to the city. He eats some sky demon that's been fried by lightning. He wants to know if he can carry Cai Ming when he's so tall. If he carries him every day, he wants to chop off his head.
