In this chapter, we are introduced to the three main characters of the novel: tang mo, an 18 year old disciple of the Qingshan sect; cheng , a 27 year old third disciple; and cheng's mother, who is the ceo of the realm of the qiongshan. The three of them eat together and discuss the new task that cheng has assigned to them. Worried that the task will be a challenge, cheng tells his mother that he has a new task to complete. He tells her that he will leave first, and then he will return home. Unsure of what the task is, he asks cheng to take a look at it. Believing that the mandrill is a mandrill, he is shocked to find that it has no head. He is also shocked by the fact that he was able to remove the seal on him. Confused by the appearance of cheng, the three men return to their normal way of life.
