He asks if he can keep the secret from his mother for her whole life, and she says that she has been his favorite person ever since he was a kid. The young man tells her that he will not keep anything from her, and asks her if she will tell him what will happen after tomorrow. She tells him that she is sick of seeing his face, and when he asks her what is on her mind, she tells him to tell her about the night before. She then asks him what happened to him after the competition. He replies that he has always hated him.
