About This Chapter
The narrator is waiting for his shift to end when he hears the clatter of someone's footsteps, and he rushes out to join the crowd. He thanks the crowd for the extra hour of his shift, and says he'll be back soon. He tells the crowd that life has just begun, and that he has to go out to grab dinner. He says he forgot his father, and then he starts to feel sick, so he goes out to buy some food. He doesn't realize that his father has a sister, and so he's glad that she's not in a fight with him. He goes back to his room, and the narrator tells him to go home and make him some noodles. The narrator says that he'd better go home because his stomach is starting to hurt. He's worried that his dad is going to get sick, but then he remembers that his sister has been fighting with her father. He wonders if his sister got into an argument with her dad,
