In this chapter, the girls discuss the fact that they've all been classmates since high school. They're now in college, and they're planning to go to the Ferris wheel together. One of the girls is afraid of heights, so she's going to stay with her brother. The other girl, Chixu, wants to go, too, but she doesn't want her brother to go with her because he'll be too weak to go on his own. The two girls agree to go together, and Chixiu tells them about a story about a couple who will be forever together if they kiss on the ride. The girls agree that the story is romantic, but they'll have to wait until they get to the top of the ride before they can kiss. They agree that it's not romantic at all, but then they realize that only two people are allowed to ride the ride, so they can't be the two people they want to kiss. The girl wonders why her brother cares about her all the time, and she remembers the stories her mom told her when she was a little girl. She's glad that he's always there for her, because she'll never be able to leave him.
