In the final chapter of the novel, Orochi, the leader of the Fuuma, and his half-brother, the kotarouuma, are laughing together in the sky. Orochi tells the others that they are immortal, and that the other half of him will kill them. He tells them to hurry up and leave the country, because it is going to be a big mess. The Fuuma tells Orochi that he is the only person who can be eliminated from existence. He says that the orochi have come back to their senses, but that the criminals have also come to meet with them. The only one who will be killed is the opponent in front of his eyes. The orochi says that he has been waiting for ten years for the day when he would be able to ask who the fuuma was. Every time he would come to the city of Gokumonjo, he would never be the same person. Now, he says, he will go and kill the entire orochi population. He wants to show the people of the city that they aren't being messed with, and he wants to keep the dream alive. He also wants to take back the era of the time when he was the leader. He asks them to grab hold of the era and take back what they have, and to also keep the spirit of the omi alive. The other half says that they will be alone forever, and they will all be absorbed in each other's company. The two of them say that they don't really want brother to die, but they do want him to stay alive.
