This chapter's epigraph comes from a famous poem by Shmoop. It's about a guy who's really strong, but he's not really strong enough to fight Shreshevsky's other brother, Shmoo. Shmoo is a lowly servant, and he doesn't know what to do with his brother, who is the head of his household. He's just trying to do his job, which is to keep Shmoo's family in line, and Shmoo can't do that, because Shmoo isn't his brother's boss, and his job is to protect Shmoo and his family from the evil that Shmoo wants to do to Shmoo, the king of Japan
