The men tell him that they can only take one person: the witness, who was with the boy on the night of the encounter with Christopher. This is because the witnesses flinched when they saw the boy. If the father leaves the boy with the man, the men can blackmail the father and use the boy to blackmail the police. The man who was arrested for reporting the encounter is also part of the group, and he is now exposed to the men. The family is shocked to learn that the house is jammed with people and that there is only a spare power supply upstairs. They have to flee the house before it is burned down.
