About This Chapter
The lieutenant asks if the floor is safe, and the answer is yes. They're moving to floor three, and they're looking for the third floor. The lieutenant says he'll make sure no one runs out of the building, and he's anxious when he sees someone running away. He tells the lieutenant to stay where he can see him, and to act as if he is about to run into the building. He doesn't want anyone to be shot, so he wants to make sure there's no danger to civilians. He also says that the cops will be moving up the stairs, so it'll be easier for them to find him later. He says it would be better if they could find him earlier, because it would make it easier to get him out of harm's way. When the lieutenant asks what's going on, the lieutenant says it's not a good idea to act like you just ran into a building. It's better to wait until the cops move up, and then act like nothing's happened. He's sorry that the Texas sheriffs didn't hear what they had to say about him and his girlfriend.
