It's pouring outside, and Shushan asks where her umbrella is. Shushan tells her that it's right there, and that she'll get a cold if she keeps walking in it. She gives Shushan an ice pack and tells him that she can do it for him. She tells Shushan that he's the best coupon collector she's ever seen, and she gives him eighteen free coupons to use. She asks why his dad slapped him, and he says that he thinks she is an "indecent ladyboy" who wears make-up and makes loud noises. He doesn't approve of opera, he says, even though he got into a prestigious academy. He's never liked her because he thinks that she wears make up and makes noises, which he thinks is a sign of her inferiority. He gives Shusan some snacks to cheer her up, and tells her to tell her that her grandpa will be back soon. He says that his grandpa taught him how to devote himself to opera, and it gave his life meaning, but somehow, some people find it hard to follow it. He makes Shushan some breakfast, which smells wonderful, and says that she will go back to her grandfather's house.
