In this chapter, Joonhee confronts hwarin about the cloak he is wearing. He tells her that it is not hers, but that of a former commander from troop number 4. He asks her how she came to know that death is the end, and she tells him that the cloak belonged to the former commander. He apologizes, saying that he did not trust anyone, but he didn't care about their deaths. He says that only the person who wrote the words would know what they meant. He then asks her to come with him to meet him at his sect's stronghold. She says that she wants to do so, but if she doesn't come, that's okay. If she keeps her promise, she won't have to worry about her sister. He reminds her that earlier, he found out that they were going to take part in a murim contest, and that she should not waste her life by not knowing who her enemy is. She reminds him that her brothers died for her sake, so she shouldn't waste their lives so easily. She asks if they can just take chooyongun with them, and he says that he can protect him if something happens.
