About This Chapter
Chapter 4 opens with a description of the mana eruption that took place a year after Nemo's arrival. Nemo explains that he was able to read some of the magic letters in the book, and that now another hundred years have passed since he first arrived in the Galapagos. He says that he has come to protect the place, but that he does not know why he has been stuck there. He asks Biyeon to come with him to his world, but Biyon says that they have little time to do so, as it is 200 years since Nemo first came to the Galapagos, and they do not have much time to spare. He tells them to run as fast as they can, but they must be careful, because he believes that the drunkard and the man who came before him must be in the same place. He finds the grain ball, which smells like medicine, and says that with it, he can save his master. The ball is gone, and he is horrified to see that it has gone into the mouth of the woman he loves. He cries out, "My precious ball, spit it out!" He asks if he should apologize for what he has done, but he says that if she dies, he will take responsibility. He goes on to say that he is going to make the coffins for the two of them.
