The three thieving swordsmen, the "demonic swords" of the "munirim world," are waiting for the leader of the Phaedra to arrive in Pocheon. When the leader arrives, they plan to kill everyone in the town. The three swordsmen munch on a fake black plaque that's made from a rare gem called obsidian, which is used in imperial palaces. They're not sure who made the fake plaque, but they're guessing that it cost around fifty taels to make. They also plan to steal the owner's black plaque, which means that they'll have to participate in a murim contest to win it. They don't want to give the owner of the black plaque away, so they plan on tricking him into giving it back to them.
