The chapter opens with a discussion between the two young men about their recent meeting with their master. The young men discuss what they have learned from their meeting. They decide that the master is trying to reform dream world and remove the white dream assistants, but that she does not have a long-term plan for doing so. The two men decide that they will return to the dream world soon, and the master tells them that he will not be able to give them the hair of the dead white dream because he is exiled. He tells the young men that they are breaking their contract with the company and that it is okay for them to do whatever they want with the hair. The men decide to pack up their things and send a message to the company's regular customers that they do not have new business for a while
