Madame Guinevere finally realizes what she's done and apologizes to Madame Lao for slapping her. She's fine, she says, and she'll treat her well and keep her sober. She reminds her husband that he's the one who's looking for her, and he should just let her go. She tells him that she is the only one who knows what's going on between him and Madame Lao. He's just worried about her. He tells her that he wants her to stop the competition and stop the business of seek right. He also wants to know what Madame Lao owes him. She says that she owes him a lot of money, and that's why he should take back what he owes her. But she doesn't know what to do with the second offer that she has for him. If they sign the contract, she tells him, they'll end their relationship.
