Antanas asks the police officer what's going on. The officer tells him that the woman who called the police saw him hanging around her house and thought he was the criminal who was being talked about in the news. The police officer says that he's been hanging around the woman's house every night for the past several weeks. He says that an old woman saw him and thought that he was a criminal. The old woman would come downstairs and wait for the lights to be turned on in the house. Ananas doesn't know what to say. He tells the police that he just bought some things over at the market place. The landlord called him and said that the floor in his house had gotten soaked in the rain and needs to be repaired. He'll have to find a new place to stay. He also tells the officer that the room where he used to live is empty.
