In this short scene, we learn that the "shangguan" family has sent Lin to kidnap Ming and his family in order to blackmail him. Lin tries to convince Ming that he has done nothing wrong, but Ming insists that he is the one who has done the wrong thing. He begs Lin to resign immediately and transfer all of the family's stocks into Lin's name. Lin promises to take care of the matter for the Ming family.
