The scene opens with the director of the play, Ming-Lin, trying to get Ming to take off his jacket and tie so that he can fit into the role of the lead character, a ceo returning from the U.K. The director tries to explain that the play is about a love story between the ceo and a detective woman, but Ming is not interested in hearing what the director has to say. He wants to know why the director didn't come out earlier to explain the changes they've made to the script. Ming interrupts Ming to ask if he's acquainted with the lead actress, Min-Jing, who's also in the play. Ming replies that he doesn't know her, but that's because Ming is trying to keep the subject of "life of man" a hot topic during the play's run-in with theaters. Ming then goes on to say that the heroine, June, is "so badass" that she's much better than the other female characters in the
