This chapter opens with a description of the plot of the novel "Blossom Valley." It's a fantasy about two young men, one of whom is trying to make a better world and the other who is "burdened with blood tainted vengeance." They've been apart for a long time, but they eventually reunite and live together in the woods together. The director of the play, a man named chunlong, is going to be directing the play. Coincidentally, he's also the director of a play called "cherry nymph," in which the young actor, xi chuan, has been cast as the lead. Unsure of what to do, shanglong tells xi that he'll have to wait another day to accept the part. . After all, he says, "half of your injury" was due to xi and jin , and xi will be able to go home the next day. This is the "last request of old lun" , so xi decides to take the blame for his cousin's injury. He explains that xi was injured during the shooting, so he can't take any more jobs for the rest of the time. He's not a big shot, but he has already acted like one, so why should he be ashamed of his acting? . Then xi chimes in that he never said that he was injured, and that he has the right to refuse any role, even if it's "plagiarised." .
