In this chapter, the protagonist explains that he has been lonely for a long time, and that the present world has become his new paradise. He tells jing to take care of him, because he is "too kind, sloppy, and timid" . He also tells tao that he will protect him if he finds out that he treated him badly. The protagonist then explains that the world rewards those who have "pure intentions" and those who "repent" , but the world will not reward those who do not have a "pure intention" or "repentance." He explains that today is a "work day" and that jing should not disturb his father, who teaches a "dutiful son." The protagonist thanks the protagonist for his support, and he concludes that his heart within him has "concluded with a perfect end."
