About This Chapter
The boss asks if the store still has taro balls. The boss tells him that it's closed for the day. He asks if he can sell taro to the baby, but the baby is hungry and the boss can't find anything to sell him. He tells the boss to go back to the storeroom and find something else to sell the baby. The baby is very grateful to the boss for buying him some taro. He says he'll have the boss repay him ten times the amount of money he gave him for buying the taro, even if the boss has to use his body too. He's worried about the baby's health, and worries that the baby will die if the baby doesn't get better. He thanks the baby for helping him open the store and for allowing others to rob him completely clean. He wants to thank the baby even more, but he's afraid the baby won't survive the earthquake. He calls the baby a "bastard" and asks the boss if he and the baby are okay. The customer who was hit by the earthquake is a "raccoon dog" , and the earthquake follows wherever it goes. He decides to go out for a few days.
