This chapter opens with a flashback to a time when the siyou were living on their land. The narrator tells the audience that this is the land of the "divine beast" , and that the "world has been destroyed" by humans. The siyou have killed their eight brothers, and the narrator tells him that he is just a cowardly incompetent child. He says that he has heard about the past of his brother tao, but that he does not want to be like him, because humans are greedy. He tells the story of a bunny that he ate because it was wounded, and then ate the bunny because he was hungry
