This chapter opens with a soliloquy in which the protagonist explains that he does not want to be a part of any of this. He feels that he is doing a good job of interacting with customers and making a good living, but that he has come to ruin his good life for his own selfish reasons and even captured his friend. He wants to get back to where he should be. He tells the protagonist that he will fight him first. The protagonist tells him that if he wants to act atrociously, he should do so somewhere else. He says that he knows what the protagonist wants to say but that it is better for him to stay still because he looks like he has a few fractures. He asks the protagonist if he still intends to run away. He thinks that the protagonist is an incompetent guardian of the qi. He is going to find the person who beat him up so badly and get rid of him.
