In this chapter, we are introduced to Ruby, a student at Tokyo University in Japan. She is a member of the student council, and she has one week to convince the other students that she is worthy of joining the council. She asks the new servant to fetch a special menu for her from the cafeteria so that she can have it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She also asks the servant to make sure that the girl eats her meals in her room. The new servant is amazed at the girl's reaction to the menu. He tells her that he is a professor at the top-ranked university in Japan, and that she will be punished if she fails to join the council . Ruby tells the servant that she has been waiting for the girl for two minutes, and he is amazed that she would be so upset. She tells him that she was upset because the girl had gotten so mad because he had made her wait so long. He says that he was not going to take the punishment, but that he had prepared a special lunch for her. He then tells Ruby that he has to get the approval of the girl within three days. He asks her to buy him some milk with the milk, but she refuses, saying that it is not her kid. He also tells her to try to win the girl over with something, such as a doll, a stuffed animal, or a long jacket. She says that she does not want to play with the girl, but wants to play by herself. Ruby says that the high school girl is very good at playing alone.
