About This Chapter
"Something totally changed inside" , says the narrator. He's not sure what's going on, but he's pretty sure that it's the two of them sawing logs. The narrator is happy that they're doing what they've been doing all along. He wonders what if they don't want to go through with it, and if they just want to hang out with each other. He also wonders what would happen if they didn't do what they said they were going to do. He tells us that he and Hayas have known each other for ten years, and that Hayas told him that he loved him and that he was going to marry him. He then dumped Hayas, and then he dumped her, and so on and so forth, until they finally realized that they weren't girls anymore, and they spent all their time "wandering around wasting time" like they were young. They even went back and forth in love, and sometimes they even dug up a "frozen love" from the past, and it was painful, because it was the first time they'd been together in ten years. He says that he'll make Hayas and the other girls disappear, and he won't have any regrets about the whole thing. He wants to be a cool woman, a sharp woman, who doesn't get into any trouble because she's a woman, and not a woman who has affairs. He wishes that he were a hunk himself, because he'd be a better man than Hayas. But he also wishes that there were more men in the world, because there's no way that he could stay in the city and not get into trouble.
