In this chapter, we learn that Hayasaka San has broken off his relationship with Rinko, and that he has returned the ring that he gave to him. We also learn that the two of them are planning a party at a fancy hotel in order to celebrate the break-up. We learn that Dogoshi, the director of the upcoming movie, wants to come to the party, and we find out that the party will be held in a pub. We find out from the two men that Mami is a "super gifted" woman, but that she has "a bunch of other girl friends" as well. The two men wonder if they have no choice but to follow Mami's lead and pursue her.
