In this chapter, we learn that Mr. Ranko was caught in the middle of the night with his mistress, and that he was taken to the back of the house to await the arrival of his parents. When he arrived, he found that his mistress and her lover were happily married. He tells Ranko that he is not the only rich man in the house, and he is sure that Ranko's parents will be able to find him another suitor.
