After three years of being a sex slave, the boys are ready to leave the savagery behind and start a new life. The narrator tells the boys that they must leave their room for a "healthy life style" if they want to stay in society. The boys are overjoyed to see their old friend, and the narrator tells him that he looks healthy, but that he fidgets in the hospital and that his brother was angry at him for doing so. He tells the boy that he will have to give him two days worth of pants to prove that he's not a "scarecrow" and that he is a "good boy." The boys' laughter is interrupted by the narrator's announcement that he plans to give the boys two days' worth of clothes.
