The pei family has called on Ming-ting and tells her to ignore the call. She tells the old woman that she has no right to interfere with her daughter's love life. She says that she is just as shameless as her mother and that she should stop seducing young men and lying about having been pregnant. Ming-tong tells her daughter to go to the Pei family, but she refuses to leave.
