The narrator wakes up in his new dorm. He's excited to start his new life. He knocks on the door of the dorm manager and tells him that he's got a roommate. The manager says that his room mate just arrived with his luggage. The narrator is happy to have a roommate, since he used to be jealous of guys who would hang out in their rooms all the time. He says he'll go for a walk around the campus and see if he can find something interesting to talk about.
