The narrator tells us that he's happy that she's mad at him for getting mad at her, but that he didn't have to tell her that. He's not mad because he wanted to see her, he'd just wanted to shake her hand and tell her how much he loves her. The narrator says that he knew ignoring her feelings would finally face her, and she flinches herself a little bit. He tells her that she is the one who made her into a complicated woman, and that's why she looks like the way she does. He kisses her and she says that she doesn't hate him when she kisses him. She says that even though he kissed her coldly, she still loves him.
