This chapter opens with a soliloquy by Soji, in which he tells his daughter that he is too greedy to love her moles. He tells her that he loves her so much that he has turned her body into chaos. She asks him to use the options her mother gave her in front of her, but he refuses, saying that he will be with her until she overcomes all of her fears. She tells him that if he could overcome all of his fears, he would not have to deal with all of this. He kisses her and tells her to come with him for a kiss. He says that they can continue when they get home, and that he can feel their kiss on his lips. He asks her to open her mouth more, and she says that she can feel the kiss on her lips. She says that if she eats the sugar candies, they will remain in her body as nutrition, so it is a miracle that they will come true.
