The narrator tells us that he's not happy with the way things are going with Soji. He's worried about how he'll be able to convince Yuko to come back to him. The narrator says that he doesn't regret not going to college, but that he didn't want to pursue his dream of becoming a prostitute. He just wanted to live the way he wanted to. He tells Yuko that she had no confidence in introducing Soji to him, so he just broke up with him. Yuko agrees to this, and the narrator runs off to get a ride home.
