About This Chapter
The narrator introduces us to a young woman named Yuko, who has been transformed into a "boring girl" by her love of moles. She tells us that she has made a "boyfriend" , but that he is "gentle and kind" and "cares so much about her" . The narrator asks her if she wants to go to a bar called Coquelicot, and she says yes. She also tells the narrator that she is worried about her boyfriend, who is "popular" and very young. She asks if he is about the age of her friend Soji, and the narrator tells her that they are about the same height. When the narrator asks if she knows anything about the document, she says that she doesn't, because she has been friends with Soji for many years, and so she knows nothing about it. She then asks the narrator if she can go to the shop that the narrator told her about, and he says yes, and that she can buy some food and an apron. She thanks him for his hard work, and asks him to go buy groceries. He agrees, and they go off to buy food.
