On the first night, Mimuha tries to hide the fact that she's having an affair with Caius. She's worried that Caius is going to think of her first. She tries to convince Caius to let her go, but he won't listen. He's sick, he says, and he's not going to be able to go to the party that night. Caius thinks he'll be fine, but Mimha thinks otherwise. She tells him to calm down, because she'll make Caius feel even worse. She wants to see Caius, but she can't stand the idea of him being a hostage to her. She begs him to get her out of there, but Caius says he can execute her for it, but not for her. He tells her that the council has proved her right, and that they'll let her out if she promises to behave herself in the future.
