About This Chapter
Brother Long, an orphan from the village, tells his younger brother, the lazy bean sprout, that he will be returning to the village to find his brother. He tells the boy that he is an immortal and that he must die in hell today. The boy, who is now eight years old, complains that the weather is too hot and he is tired all the time. Brother Long tells him to calm down and says that it is not his fault that he does not want to work on the farm. He says that he has a great dream and he will fight him if he tries to hit him again. When Brother Long asks if he still remembers the story of the immortals, the boy says that the story is not a dream. He explains that a year ago, two well-dressed men came to his village and welcomed his father as an immortal. When he heard that the man was an outsider, he ran out to see the fun. The two men are all immortals who are able to travel to heaven on their swords. When the boy returns home, he will give his family a gold mountain so that they can live their lives. Four years later, they will worship the master together.
