About This Chapter
In this short scene, we learn that the scheming princess is once again using her sachet to poison her lover. This time, it's the prince's son-in-law, gigolo, who is the one who's trying to poison the princess. The prince is all, "Gee, that sounds like a good idea." He's also worried that the gigolo has been drugged and that his love token is "very deadly" . He wonders why the prince would want to poison his beloved. He also wonders if gigolo's "arrogant and domineering" attitude is really a good thing. Then he wonders if there's any truth in the rumor that the prince has been "told by a woman." He wonders if the prince is still in the room, and wonders if he hasn't been cured of his old disease. He asks if he's all right, and the prince says that he thought he'd seen the prince a long time ago, so he came looking for him. He then wonders if it was the prince who had broken off his marriage, and if he still has a title to give to his daughter.
