In this chapter, Huaqi tries to counter the attack of the ziqiao by saying that he can't control the world. He tells Yueru that he's afraid that she still wants to hide from him. He says that if the war between the three kingdoms ends, then the war will be over, but that even a brief moment of peace will not stop the ambitions of gulan. He also says that even if the peace is brief, it won't last long, because the emperor's ambitions will never be stopped. Huaqi says that the current arrangement of three kingdoms seems like peaceful coexistence, but it's only mutual containment. What he wants to know is why the emperor chose him. It's hateful, he says, knowing that he and Yueru are already married, and how dare the emperor openly propose marriage in the courtroom. Yueru tells him that she's here to see him and rani, and that she never goes to buddhist temples for nothing.
