About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he's in love with Aisazawa. He's been seeing a lot of women over the years, but he doesn't want to be a part of his father's business. He wants to be able to stay close to his father, but it's not in his power to do so. He tells us, "how the hell can I get my father, and aazawa, to sounds like... it'll... approve of" him becoming a "yakuza" . Okay, so what's the point of trying to convince your father and your boss that you're worthy of becoming the next leader of the "odaragiri clan" ? Nah, he says, you guys are awful in their own friends' way, too. Nah, the two sons of the boss are also "screwed too" , and the narrator says, "what do you think I need to do" to be "worthy of" being the boss's heir . The narrator goes to the "h-q" to learn about the business of the gang, but there's no hustling going on, and he wants to know more about it. Nah tells him to go home and sign a document saying that he won't be allowed to do anything stupid in the future. Nah says that's a good thing, because he'll be free to do whatever he wants with his life once he signs the document.
