The next morning, the two of them go for a walk. The narrator asks the young couple if they've slept together, and the young men reply that they have. They've both been working hard at their jobs, and they're happy to be living together. The young men tell the narrator that he's always been beautiful, and that he complains about his boyfriend to him every day. He's become a bigger presence in her life, and she says that she wants to feel like she's not ashamed of herself anymore. The two go to the train station to pick up the young man, and he runs up to them and asks if they were working hard today. They say yes, and then he runs off to find the young woman he saw earlier in the day. She's so cute, the narrator says, that he can't believe that they'd be able to get along so well. They eat dinner at a fancy restaurant, and when they get back to the apartment, they find that the girl they saw earlier is back at work.
