He asks the girl next to him if she's his girlfriend. She's not, and he wonders if they're talking about something secret. He wonders if it's the flower of the department, and wonders if she and the freshman are in love. He also wonders if the two of them are going to last long. He hopes they'll be together for a long time. He worries that people will be sad if the news spreads, but one thing he can tell is that they are quite compatible. He says he hopes they will last long because he is far inferior to them in talent and looks, and worries that their looks will make them seem sad. He tells the girl to stand up and explain the situation to her when she comes back. He doesn't want to bother her anymore, and says he'll explain it when she returns. He wishes he could explain it to her.
