It's lunch time at the university, and we're introduced to a new member of the research team, a girl named Lin Qinghui. She's the leader of the team, and she's been working for the past two years. Lin asks if she can have a bite to eat with the rest of the students, and the girl says yes. The girl introduces herself as a friend of Lin's from class next door. Lin tells the girl that he's just brought her a friend to hang out with, and they're having a nice time. Lin says that she'll give the girl a slice of cheesecake as a thanks-you-for-staying-late-with-him-in-the-lab-last-night-and-walking-her-all-the way-back-to-the dorm--as a thank-you gift. Lin is surprised to see that the girl is a part-time student, so she doesn't have to worry about taking care of the other students. Lin then asks if Lin has any project-related matters to discuss, and Lin says yes, but she'd rather not have to ask her friend to talk about it. Lin apologizes, and says that the professor mentioned the project the other day, and he'd like her to join in on the discussion.
