About This Chapter
In this chapter, the narrator explains that he was the one who demanded that the detective be truthful with her. He asks why the detective trusts her so much, and she explains that she has to be honest as much as he trusts her. She tells him that one day, her lover abruptly left the world. She is shocked that he would commit suicide. She wants to return to that day three years ago, when she first met him. The detective tells her that it is believed that the death is suicide, but she cannot understand why a person would want to commit suicide if they had a lover. He says that suicide is more likely to occur if the person already has thoughts of suicide, and that external factors can change the mind of a patient with depression. She says that she prays for the deceased to rest in peace, but that she cannot believe that he had depression. After talking with the detective, she runs away. She asks him if he knows her boyfriend, and he says that he does, but he does not know her. The narrator asks if she is acting, or is she possessed by her lover's spirit, and the detective replies that she does know her boyfriend. He then asks her if she has any tissue to give to him, and when she says yes, he gives her extra sunglasses.
