In this chapter, the narrator explains the circumstances surrounding the death of his former boyfriend, cha-woo-bin, who donated his bone marrow to a young man named han-ji-hyuk. The young man's name is Kim. The narrator explains that the first time he met him was because of the young man, and that he searched "high and low" for anyone who knew Kim. Eventually, he found Kim, who was a "miracle sent from above" . Kim tells the narrator that he gave him 150 thousand won, which was too little to cover the cost of the bone marrow transplant. Kim asks the narrator if he can explain the circumstances of the death in a simple way, and the narrator tells him that it is impossible to do so in a "simplified way." The narrator then tells the story of how he met Kim, and how he found out that Kim had a history of depression. Kim explains that it takes four to six weeks for the effects of prozac to reach the patient.
