About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that Mr. Otter has written a letter to his friends, telling them that he has changed his mind about going to the wedding of his dead brother, and that he is not going to attend it. He also tells them that his brother is dead and that they should all do whatever is best for him. He tells them not to worry, because he has experience with ghosts, and he is glad to see them. He says that they have promised him gifts, but that they are spoiled and send "desperate kids into danger" for the sake of the promise. He asks them to explain, saying that they had a promise, and now they are all pissing him off. He shows them a letter written by his brother, saying it is proof enough for them, and then he shows them another letter, written by a friend of his brother's, saying this is also proof enough. The letter is from bat sare, and it is addressed to his friend, and the handwriting is the same as that of the letter from his brother
