The story opens with a description of an art dealer who kept a small collection of magical artifacts. One day, however, the art dealer's collection fell into the hands of a woman who had killed the mayor of a nearby town. The art dealer was shocked to learn that the woman had murdered the mayor, but he was able to recover his strength and live again.
