About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a description of the search for Nemo's bottle. The narrator tells us that the search is as bad as it was in the store, and that he's happy to pass along a message to Nemo. He tells Nemo to go traveling, and to put his treasure in a water-tank. Nemo says he'd be happy to be a fisherman, but that his mom doesn't have a lot of money, so he'll have to work for nothing. He's a good for nothing, he says, and one day, someone will call him a good person. Nemo tells him to wait a sec, because the neighbors have pulled him out of the water and brought him back to them. The neighbors have told Nemo that his parents abandoned him when he was a baby, and they've also told him that he inherited his immunity from his father's death. Nemo wants to know what's funny about this, and he tells him that they're both 14 years old and that everyone says that a fisherman's job is a good one, but they never prepare for anything. He says that he already has all the stuff he needs, but he needs more.
