The narrator tells us that the doctor came to check on Mina and that everything was okay. He also says that Mina went to visit her grandpa, who told her that he had some gifts for her. The narrator says that he's been thinking that Mina looks a lot like his mom, and that she has had some troubles in the past. He tells the narrator that he is very lucky to have a wife like her. He asks the narrator not to worry about her, and the narrator tells him not to try to hide anything. He says that the one thing he feared most was that Mina would be sorry to have been so worried about him. She apologizes and says that she will take good care of Mina and her mom. He then asks if they have talked to the magical society, and she says that one year ago, Yulan had been renounced by the society. What's it like to be renounced, she asks, when you have a tool that the society tries to keep hidden? The society won't do anything against Yulan because it fears that his power will be used against the family, and they don't want Yulan to be able to use his power against them.
